Asymmetric Effect of Military Expenditures on Economic Growth in Pakistan: A Nonlinear-ARDL Approach

چکیده
The nexus between military expenditure and economic growth has been analyzed using different methods techniques in the literature, but most previous findings are indecisive, i.e., non-significant, positive, or negative. primary purpose of this article was to explain expenditure-economic Pakistan by capturing asymmetrical effects expenditures on non-linear autoregressive distribution lag-NARDL technique. Data were from 1972-2018. results indicated that a decrease spending (adverse shocks) enhanced long term. An increase (positive had an insignificant effect Pakistan, suggesting focus cost reduction may benefit growth. More so, Wald test validated asymmetries both long- short Capital formation labor force, as control variable, positively affected run. Based these findings, paper offers some critical suggestions for policymakers.

The Impact of Energy Consumption, Financial Development on Economic Growth, Based on Nonlinear and Asymmetric Approach
Investigating causal relations, symmetry and asymmetry leads to the correct understanding of policy makers for policy and planning purposes. Many studies have been conducted on the linear relationship between variables on the international level and in Iran, but these studies mainly focus on linear relationships. Since in Iran, the non-linear and asymmetric relationship between the energy consu...

T he main objective of this paper was the investigation of the impact of the trade openness on economic growth in Pakistan. We have been employed both the Johensen and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Co-integration together with ECM Techniques for the period 1975-2016. The empirical estimated results are the sound evidence that there exists a short...

The article examines the impact of the dynamics of military expenditures, public debt, arms exports on the economic growth of the six countries (US, China, Russia, Israel, Ukraine, Moldova). The paper empirically tested the hypothesis of the possibility of further maintaining the positive macroeconomic effects in the process of confronting and persistent ‘hybrid’ military conflicts in either ‘h...
متن کاملEconomic Growth in 24 African Countries: a Panel ARDL Approach
This study complements existing literature by examining the nexus between energy consumption (EC), CO2 emissions (CE) and economic growth (GDP) in 24 African countries using a panel ARDL approach. The following findings are established. First, there is a long run relationship between EC, CE and GDP. Second, a long term effect from CE to GDP and EC is apparent, with reciprocal paths. Third, the ...
